Indianapolis Diesels : Indiana Proud
With Indianapolis Diesels' Alumni Player-
Mark Dunn- #16 Pick In 2012 Premier Basketball League Draft
*Birthplace: Trafalgar, Indiana (United States)
*Height: 6-8 (203cm) - Weight: 260 (118kg)
*College: Eastern Washington Eagles men's basketball
*High School: Indian Creek Senior High School [Trafalgar, Indiana]

"As Far As Here (Indiana), Basketball Is King"
Mark Dunn was born in Trafalgar, Indiana and attended Indian Creek Senior High School. After having a great high school basketball career, Mark took his talents to Eastern Washington Eagles men's basketball in Cheney, Washington. After graduating from college with degree in business management, Mark played professional basketball with the Indianapolis Diesels. Mark had a significant presence on the basketball court but was also very adamant about helping within the community. He was dedicated to helping and educating kids on the importance of healthy living habits with working hand-in-hand with the 5-2-1-0 Program. Not only has Mark played for the Diesels but he played overseas in China. Mark is currently working within the Indianapolis community as a firefighter for Greenwood Fire Dept .
We are glad to say, Mark is a part of our basketball family!!

DieselsTV sat down with Mark for a quick interview:

DieselsTV: What is the most you like about playing professional basketball with Indianapolis Diesels and in China?

Mark Dunn: The greatest experience for me playing I feel like were the fans. The fans were amazing. They made you feel like a star, when in all reality you're just one of them. That was probably the most memorable experience for me. Walking into and out of the stadiums fans would be standing and waiting. Signing autographs on people hands and the clothes they were wearing and just the reaction of people when walking through the streets was awesome.

DieselsTV: How did you like playing high school basketball and professional basketball in the state of Indiana?

Mark Dunn: As far as here at home, basketball is king. It's the capital of basketball for a reason. It's kind of like Texas and football. The atmosphere at the high school level is awesome! Being a kid from Indiana you learn the game of basketball. Some of the greatest basketball IQ players come from Indiana. Great pure shooters come from Indiana. So being a kid from Indiana I was known as the big guy with range that could shoot, and had a great basketball IQ. Which is definitely what helped me play at all the levels of basketball, in which I did!

Get Involved. Save Lives. Go Red!

NATIONAL WEAR RED DAY – FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2016 ‪#‎GoRedForWomen‬

Support Go Red For Women by participating in National Wear Red Day® on Friday, February 5, 2016 and donating to help fund research during American Health Month.

Why Go Red? Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. Fortunately, we can change that because 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action. That’s why this year we are asking that you wear red on National Wear Red Day® and Donate to Go Red For Woman. By doing so you help support educational programs to increase women’s awareness and critical research to discover scientific knowledge about cardiovascular health.

And don’t forget to make your heart health a priority. Schedule your Well-Woman Visit, a prevention check-up to review a woman’s overall health so her doctor can measure blood pressure, check cholesterol and look for signs of heart disease, stroke and other illnesses. Then encourage others through your social channels to do the same using the hashtags, ‪#‎GoRedWearRed‬ and ‪#‎WellWomenVisit‬.

We couldn’t make positive changes without the support and donations by individuals like you.

Victory Sports Education Program (VSEP), which promotes the benefits of exercise, proper diet, physical fitness, and wellness to encourage local youth to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The VESP has adopted the 5-2-1-0 Everyday program which stresses better eating habits and more exercise as well as the No Bull project to address bullying with its consequences. Get Involved
There are many opportunities to get involved with Action for Healthy Kids in Indiana. From becoming a team member, to attending an Action for Healthy Kids event, to making a financial contribution – you can help create a healthier environment for our kids!

If you feel compelled to lend your voice to one of the most important issues of our time, and would like to take that first step towards creating a healthier environment for our kids, join the Action for Healthy Kids community by taking the Every Kid Healthy Pledge

Whether you are part of school staff, a parent or community member, you can help make a difference. Get involved as a volunteer at your local school! Game On activities provide tips on how to engage as a volunteer in a school near you.
